My apartment is gloriously minimal and I've felt stress levels around work reduce...it can mean only one thing; I've stopped hunting! I've been pushing to sell off my remaining wares and it's made me highly selective about what I purchase to sell. Here are some tempting bits I've left behind the past month or so. And others that were just to awesomely weird not to share:
I desperately wanted this gorgeous atomic style orange swiggle-patterned (scientific, super professional name, obviously) tumblers. They are what my soul looks like; bright, chaotic, lively. But I didn't want the basket and napkins. Nor did I want to pay $10 for an item likely to sit for too long. I had to pass.
Oh such beauty, why did I have to leave you!? I tried to get the vendor to go down on the price but no dice. It's for the best, I have way too much glassware. I must stop that fetish.
I also couldn't get a vendor to go down on this charming table. The back has storage for "hiding" things. I think this would make the perfect bar for a living room but he wanted $15.00 and I don't have the time/space/patience to fix up all the little faults with it.
This guy was just a bit of memory lane for me. You know I love my Japanese robots, I spent a great deal of middle school obsessed with this anime series. You can't go wrong with Gundam. I would have been elated to find this in my school days. Now I can watch it for free online.
And this just. Wow. Horror of horrors, why do you exist?!
Anything with a Native American motif appeals to me. Perhaps it's cultural appropriation but I don't know, something about it... This guy is clearly to rough so behind he stayed.
Something about these retro diner chairs appealed to me too, not in line with my personal decorating aesthetic but unique and fun anyway. Sculptural, even.
This vintage rocker and chalk board are a double-whammy of awesome. Both too expensive so I took my photos and moved on.
This vendor has beautiful items- love the vintage signage. All out of my price range so I moved on after a quick shot. You will be very hard pressed to find a vintage sign for less than $100ish around these parts.
This was too weird not to stop and document. Almost regret not buying it. So much "what"? Why?
I enjoyed the typography and illustrations on the front of this. I want the house, that credenza "dad" built at the bottom right, my own organized workshop as picture top right, my personal handyman, the ability to build anything I want...I just look at this cover and dreamed, don't judge me. The typeface mix and color choice is very nice, too.
I quite liked this 1960s ottoman/storage combination piece and the price wasn't that bad, but I left it for another buyer. Seemed like the type of piece that could sit for too long. I'll have no more of that!
And a lovely retro stroller in nice condition, these have been popping up in my hunts frequently like some type of devious omen. No! You won't make me go back to church, stroller! And I sure as hell won't be anticipating use of you any time soon or ever! I call them "Rosemary's Baby" strollers for my love of the flick. They are just creepy to me now. Thanks, movie.
And yay, beautiful pop culture goodness. I should have but didn't even ask a price on the glorious Star Wars sheets. So beautiful!
Been leaving anything interesting behind at the flea markets lately? One day I'll be back to hunting with abandon, for now, I must hold back...
