How to Make Big Bad Bucks Reselling: New Name. New Chapter.

We sacrifice ample riches as freelancers for flexible schedules, freedom from tyrannical bosses, and escape from bureaucratic time-wastes. But more money is the cherry on that sweet liberation sundae (mmmm!and it's hard as hell for a mere mortal to increase profit as busy reseller without splitting in two like prokaryote bacteria!

I'm independent to a fault, a micro manager that tries to tackle every part of a project. I bite off more than I can chew; all exploits suffer and work/life balance implodes violently! This is the wrong approach for success, and I've finally done what I should have long ago- accepted help! I've teamed up!

I work extensively with Rosaly of Old Skool Junk and we realized combining our brands would be essential for opening our future brick & mortar shop. Two (or more!) brands under one roof? Too confusing, and multiple antique mall booths, social media accounts, blogs, and online shops on top of a B&M store would be impossible for us to maintain.

Redirected: "thriftcore.com" will redirect to the new domain name early November.
So You'll...just go to thriftcore.com as usual, update links/bookmarks later.
New Name: Thrift Core will go by a sexy new name. (Hint: involves an animal!)
Shop: Online shops overflowing with diverse vintage, art, and accessories will launch!
Updates: Shop and blog updates will be high-quality and frequent!
Rosaly: See more Rosaly! You'll like her, pure talent! (Read her interview see her studio.)Blog: More DIY/thrifty lifestyle/business/vintage shopping/thrifting posts coming!
Voice: won't change, it's still me! I'm still easily reached. Old articles stay put.

Making The Big Bad Bucks and truly ascending takes sacrifice! I thought I couldn't "abandon" the website I've slaved over for years. Rosaly and I invested hundreds of dollars and hours of labor on our brands! It's heartbreaking. But this isn't the death of two brands, it's the birth of a mega brand that's guaranteed to earn more and reach new levels. I'm excited to bring you the best quality blog content and merchandise under it, and I'm grateful you're here to experience the transformation with us!

Questions? I'd love to answer. Feedback? I'd love to hear it. Let me hear your thoughts in the comments! I'll continue to be transparent and write about our transition.

  4. I just started following you but, I believe you'll be successful with two brands. Picking for profit is just a hard time consuming job, two people in the mix is going to help you out a lot! Good luck on the web site too!

  5. Thanks Abe! Two people is going to make the most time consuming parts like moving merchandise from store to store, taking photos, writing descriptions, and listing items online quicker. Just to clarify, there will be only one brand. Thrift Core will be changing it's name to the new brand, which shall be revealed early November.

    1. I reached out to Rosaly and her biz partner/boyfriend at Art Walk because I was so impressed by their dedication to quality displays, presentation, and products. I love getting out there and meeting kindred spirits through local art events, I've experienced many opportunities and grown so much this way.

  16. Oh Van, how very exciting, best of luck to you! If I can help you in any way, please feel free to email me -- I went from the flea market booth to a B&M shop with a partner with disastrous results, learn from my mistakes! Actually, I'll try to write you a personal email, if I forget, remind me (its the beginning of crazy time around here.) XXX Jet

    2. Wow, good luck - your blog has been so helpful and encouraging to me since I started an antique mall booth this past February. 17. All company's change or die. I've been through 3 mergers in my day job and going through the 4th right now. Without my sister to help me with the antique booth I may never have given that a try. Life is full of choices and change, best of luck in your new venture, I'll be following with you!
