Half-Year Check In: What Are Your Goals for 2012?

The year is already half-over! I remember starting off the year with lots of steam and potential. But I've got to admit, after moving, rearranging my entire home to take in a roommate, and countless hours prioritizing boring things like organization I'm burned out. I want to write the best posts ever for this blog, launch my new online shop, make more money selling my wares, write a book, and open my shop. Action! I want action!

Here are my goals for the rest of the year. I'd love to know what you have planned, too. Share in the comments. Let's encourage each other to get back on track!

1.) Set Goals and Action Steps for Accomplishing my goals, divide them into daily steps, hit it! (Including sales goals!)

2.) Work everyday to get super pedantically organized ONCE AND FOR ALL!

3.) Launch that online shop by the end of August and keep on it!

4.) Finally finish first draft of my brick and mortar shop's business plan. Research & Conquer!

5.) Finish a craft or art project every day. Work on making art and accessories to sell daily.

6.) Work on my book every day, e-mail publishers, research on getting it published.

7.) Use a timer to keep myself working hard and on-task every day.

8.) Document, photograph, and list my thrift finds as soon as I find them.

9.) Get ahead on blog posts. Make them entertaining, educational, and attractive.

10.) Make time for fun! Travel, yummy food, and small rewards for big accomplishments!

What are your goals for the rest of August? Let's get busy! I'm off to make some strong tea and get moving...

    1. Same to you, my friend. It's difficult to stay as motivated as we are at the start of the year, but I'm ready to get busy!

  4. Oh my. I miss being able to set goals like that. Now that I'm old & have three young kids, my lists typically have 2 or 3 things & it's a good day if any one of them get accomplished well. I do half-assed like a pro, though. ;)

I opened my online shop on Etsy almost a year ago. I was super motivated in the beginning, but by the time Christmas was over I was brain-dead. I couldn't even pick up a needle & thread until May (true story).
Not only that, but I'm blessed that a local boutique sells some of my stuff & I haven't gotten new product to her since then either!

    I need motivation *so* badly!

  5. Van, you're very ambitious and I wish I could be too! I don't set daily goals but rather broad goals that I would like to accomplish over a period of time. My main goals are as follow though.

    1. Hire assistant to help take pictures and possibly fulfill orders
    2. Have at least 300-400 items listed in my Etsy shop for the upcoming holiday season (I'm currently around 140 items listed).

I stopped making organization goals, since they never seem to be accomplished..haha!

    1. I feel your pain with the organization goals. EVERY SINGLE TIME I get ambitious and really get to work on the goals above the entire house becomes trashed. It's trashed again right now...time to get to work on that pesky cleaning cycle again.

I like the idea of getting 300-400 items listed, I need to be doing the same...

  6. You're so awesome, Van. you're probably 10 years younger than me, but I still want to be you when I grow up.

  7. I really have to remember to reward myself when I do accomplish something (I'm a positive feedback kind of person) and I like that you included that in your goal list!
