Giveaway + Thrift Core Christmas Wish List: Nintendo, Indie Art and Mod Goodness

I feel like Christmas gift-giving should be thoughtful, useful, and unique. I have mixed feelings on the season but love how it's an opportunity to highlight and support indie businesses. Here are personal favorites I've drooled over all year:

1) You can't go wrong with attractively framed art prints for Christmas gifts, you support artists and give something unique and valuable to treasure. Pop culture mash-up art is extremely popular and the Ukiyoe Heroes are my favorites. Combining ancient Japanese screen printing tradition with "modern" digital era heroes was a stroke of genius. Read about the artists (fellow Japanophiles) and their incredibly detailed process!

2) Maiden Voyage merchandise is so well-designed, with goods for everyone in your life. The cotton shirts have a vintagey buttery soft feel, the branding is printed on the inside back where the tag should be (no itchy tag and you're not a walking billboard, yay!) and the designs are incredible. Check out their art prints, t-shirts, and patches.

3) Your fur-child deserves Christmas goodness, too! I love these mod cat/dog furniture pieces, incredibly beautiful pieces to match a vintage-style home. Via on Modernist Cat Etsy.

4) I had to throw in love for this cozy wool cat caves, too. Via Love Cat Caves Etsy.

5) Fresh new calendars and planners help you conquer a new year! I love beautifully designed planners by The Big Calendar on Etsy organizing goods byOne Canoe Two. (Their perpetual calendar is excellent for a small biz owner to document sales/spending attractively!) I'm always looking for planner recommendations, send 'em over if you have some.

Vitamix pictured with the sandwiches, soups, pies, & other things I've made with it!
6) I can't recommend the Vitamix Blender enough as a gift for your family and/or yourself. I've used many different blenders and they do the job, but the Vitamix makes the healthy lifestyle a breeze for a busy person. In minutes I make and clean-up nutritious meals. If you buy through this link to get free shipping!

7) And now for the giveaway! You know I love my organic skin care goodies. I was given the opportunity to sample Annmarie Gianni's products and was thoroughly impressed with the performance and quality. They're scented with incredible smelling essential oils, are100% natural and bottled beautifully in dark glass to protect photo-sensitive active ingredients. (Everything in their shop is 20% off this week.)

Giveaway Rules: They let me give away a bottle of their delicious smelling, creamy Aloe Herb Cleanser! In order to enter leave simply leave a comment letting me know what content topics you'd love to see me write into the new year and include your e-mail so I can contact you if you win! I will announce the winner December 11th.

For extra entries (leave a separate comment for each action you perform) you can: 1) follow Thrift Core on twitter 2) Follow Thrift Core on Instagram 3) Follow Thrift Core on Facebook 4) Follow the Thrift Core blog

For full disclosure, Vitamix is a Thrift Core affiliate and Maiden Voyage is a Thrift Core sponsor. I was however not paid to endorse anything in this post, they are all sincere recommendations. Send me an e-mail if you'd like to sponsor Thrift Core or host a giveaway OR if you have any recommendations for me! And don't forget to shop my Etsy shop for unique vintage goodies, I'm adding new things and marking down other every day!

    2. HOW TO GET YOUR EX BACK WITH YOU NOW!!!
I have something to share with you!!! There is a great joy in my heart which I want to share with everyone. My name is Gunn Jenssen Faith . I had a misunderstanding with my lover several months ago; which led us to break up and he never wanted to hear my voice again. But as time went on, a good friend of mine recommended DR.PEPOKO who could help me with Love Spell to get my man back. At first, I thought the idea of a love spell was strange, but was willing to give it a try because i really love my boyfriend. For the first time I was scared to contact the DR.PEPOKO because I was not sure if what they did was against my religion. But my friend assured me that they only use Spell which is safe and has no side effects. I felt a little better and decided to contact DR.PEPOKO on his mail (pepokolovespell@gmail.com)I contacted him through his email and explained everything to him. He said that I shouldn't worry, that my lover will come back to me on his knees begging for forgiveness. I bought an item that he told me to buy for the preparation of the spell and assured me that my lover will come to me within 48 hours in remorse. My greatest joy now is that he actually came back to me and fell on his knees begging for forgiveness. We got back together and our relationship has been better this second time around. I have to give DR.PEPOKO all the credit for helping us get back to a better place than where we began. The new found love that my boyfriend has for me is incredible and i can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Do you have any problem with your loved one? Well worry no more because DR.PEPOKO can provide you with a spell to get him or her back. With the help of a spell just as he helped me. Contact DR.PEPOKO via email: pepokolovespell@gmail.com or visit her website: www.pepokolovespelltemple.blogspot.com

Here is my details also if you wish to contact me personal::: gunnjenssen.faith@gmail.com

  4. Can I comment and not be part of the giveaway? It would be a shame if I won. My skin is far to sensitive I don't use anything not prescribed by my Doctor! With that said. This year everyone who is not my son (who is poor and truly needs a lap top and he's missing his mom and dad so he gets all the things) are getting items I find that support charities or maybe local and I mean VERY local as in me and that person face to face kind of local. I'm just so tired of buying crap. If I can at least spend my money and help someone. Then I'm OK with it.
As for posting. I think your doing a great job! I'm sure you get tired of the same ol same ol. So I think you should post about how you've adopted a good exercise regime and how its working out for you! :D Oh come on, I had too! :)

    1. I seriously want to/need to do that and will :) I'm thinking bike rides. My immediate family is getting thrifted/useful thrifted gifts, books sm d art supplies.

    2. Jogging feels like dying for me still. Any tips?

      Delete
    3. Since your so goal orientated or rather thrive when given a goal to accomplish. Like I don't do well with just going for a bike ride or running for the hell of it. Ok scratch that, thats not true NOW. But I have learned to love exercise for exercise sake. But when your starting out it just plain sucks. Take it from the middle age woman who started at 220 pds, bad hips, bad knee's. You name it. But after I started and I lost the weight (something you don't have to worry about) I decided I wanted to do something big so I picked of all things a triathlon. But that works for me because I can't JUST run I have to dabble in lots of stuff. I thrive on the multi schedule I have to do and I can do it because I work from home. And even in the off season I can give myself goals that improve myself for when its not off season. Like even though I freakin hate it. I'm trying to weight train. You lose muscle mass rather quickly when you get a certain age so i'm trying to combat that. I take yoga because it helps with my inner core and helps stretch out all the tight parts. See how it all relates to the summer triathlon I plan on doing? And someday by the time i'm fifty I will do a ironman. I need those short term and long term goals. So maybe start with a 5K get the training program couch to 5K (google that shit its Hal Hidgon) Work the schedule then do the 5K and you'll be hooked. I swear it. Your first runner high and you will never look back. Your first accomplishment and you'll want more. Want to ride a bike, maybe cruising bores the crap out of you (it did me!) so I upgraded to a mountain bike and I FLEW. Seriously fell in love with a bike... F.e.l.l i.n. l.o.v.e. Now I ride my porsche bike (my beautiful and gorgeous specialized road bike) she's a mean one and I don't recommend her as a starter bike. But oh the hills and valleys you will see on a good bike. Its my first passion but I hated it until I got a bike that responded to me instead of plodded along like a half dead horse. And dabble, pick a gym. Go to a spinning class (it will seriously kick your ass but I like the challenge and go at least twice a week). Try yoga and try different yoga. I like just one and hate the rest. Maybe you would like cross fit. It has its own culture and its own goals and levels. You have to try lots and lots of stuff and set goals...YOU my friend have it in you. Seriously I see you doing something race like, you got the right personality for it believe it or not! Oh one more thing do 21 days of exercise no breaks 21 days straight. Its supposed to create a habit. I think for me I just didn't want to give up after almost a month of facing the stupid tread mill. And look into interval training, most of it you do in 15 to 20 minutes. When I started I figured what was 15 minutes (besides REALLY hard but you get it done). And you find you can handle it, the pain, the out of breath, you don't die and you learn how to breath. Then the slow cardio doesn't seem as hard. Hope something here helps. :)

      Delete
    4. Yes this all helps! Thank you! My friend and I tried an interval jogging training ap and it..was so painful, I am very new to physical activity I've done nothing but walk and bike my whole life, haha. I will push, I know this will help with my poor sleep cycle. I wake up during the night and have trouble sleeping overall and I'm sure my lack of physical activity has a lot to do with that.

My boyfriend did crossfit when I met him (then he got comfortable living my sedentary lifestyle with me for like a year as has to get back on it) and could train me on that. Looks HARD as HELL but I like how it's an intense workout in less time for the busy person.

  11. I also love that cat cave! Your comment about jogging made me laugh. I am a bike rider, love it! But the only way Im running is if a bear is chasing me.....and even then, I would give up after a block or two and just let the bear have at me. Okay, but back to that cat cave....My cat would love it!

Will keep 'em going, I love writing about my mistakes and worries it's very cathartic. And not enough bloggers do it. I may have to get the cave for the Yuko. And on running, I'm going to try it again but yes it feels like dying and I'd only sustain it if zombies/bears were chasing me. Or there was deadline on a year's supply of vegan food I'd have to race for or something. Will Run For Food.

    1. Thanks for the honest feedback Trudie, I'll keep updates on being an indie business owner/reseller even if I do move away from reselling eventually. I do want to move the blog in a creative biz/ healthy lifestyle/ art, DIY and decor direction but reselling and thrifting will likely always play a role.

  26. I love ModernistCat's stuff! I discovered her when Etsy featured her in one of their blog posts. I wish I had a pet so that I could buy a piece from her and show it off - lol!

I agree with Trudie. This is your blog; you should not be tied down in what you write about. But like Trudie, I enjoy your reselling posts. Another idea - Perhaps you can do interviews with indie business owners/artists? You were doing something like that for awhile there. I'd love to see you do that again, or something in a similar vein - interviewing people, like the people whose homes you showcase maybe?

    1. Yep, definitely bringing back to indie business owner/artist interviews. I wanna showcase creator's/reseller's workspaces and processes as well. Tours of shops, shall be lovely :D And similar to reselling in terms of being inspiring to indie business owners. Thanks for the feedback!

He then calculated the dosage for me to buy i think the dosage he calculated was 60grams of the oil which I ordered plus "30grams maintenance free" I was told that if I order for the Cannabis Oil right away by the next 48 hours the medication will get to my door step through the delivery services, Immediately I ordered for it behold it was delivered with the usage instruction manual at the exact time which i was told by Dr. Rick Simpson, Today i can boldly say I'm now free from my Cancer problem all Thanks to God Almighty, Dr. Rick Simpson and my lovely wife who stood by me during those years.
