Thrift Haul: Free Stuff For me and YOU + The Biggest Vintage/Mod Hauls EVER

This is the haul that stole my weekend from me! I made plans go to beautiful St. Augustine Florida with my mom and niece but had to rush out orders. On the way back from the post office I got sucked into an incredible yard sale and estate sale and came home with loads of vintage! I instead ended up finding, cleaning and listing all weekend and can't wait for a break! Here's what I scored:

I scooped up some adorable flocked Christmas ornaments, I thought they had the potential to sell well on Etsy. See the kitty can above here. There's also an adorable deer, Bear and Reindeer. They're all only $6.50 each.

String art doesn't sell well for me, but I absolutely love it. this piece had so much beautiful detailing. See it ------>>> On Etsy

This tea towel sold lightning fast on Etsy, one of my favorite finds of the past couple of weeks. Love the whimsical illustrations. ------>>> On Etsy

Immediately after buying this Venice tea towel I felt it'd be a hard sale, but it reminded me of childhood days in Italy. Gorgeous colors and line work on this piece. ------>>> On Etsy

This dramatic velvet painting came home with me for a song. Love the chiaroscuro affect on velvet vintage artwork. ------>>> On Etsy
And in a similar vein we have this beautiful wire artwork had to come back with me too. I may have to add my collection of wire and string art to my Southern Crossing booth soon. For now, see it ------>>> On Etsy

Their weird mouse has a bear friend on Etsy as well. Both made in Japan and just such a uniquely weird set. ------>>> On Etsy

This coffee percolator still works, will brew your coffee, then conveniently serve it to guests. Can also be used as a coffee warmer. ------>>> On Etsy

Couldn't resist such a beautiful vintage projector. It's in perfect working condition. ------>>> On Etsy

And I found Libby glassware in-box, wildflower pattern. Very pretty glasses. ------>>> On Etsy

And a beautiful (though quite worn) mid century modern finel from Arabia Finland collectible salad bowl. ------>>> On Etsy

I have quite enough planters but damn, they're so gorgeous! And I just sold a big lot of gorgeous green ones so I feel better about buying this beautiful atomic era yellow planter. ------>>> On Etsy

And there's some more mod goodness in this gorgeous fish coffee mug. ------>>> On Etsy

I don't have luck selling retro beer stein type things but loved these kitschy Florida Silver Springs salt and pepper steins. ------>>> On Etsy

And I found my first coffee carafe full set! Beautiful set! 'Twas hard to photograph them in the right light, a lot of these items practically demand re-shoots. D'oh. ------>>> On Etsy

This big turtle stuffed guy is too. Damn. Adorable with his retro fabric and psychedelic beauty. See him ------>>> On Etsy

And then we have these tumblers I have been told are from the 1930s. Perfect for mixed drinks with friends. ------>>> On Etsy
This angry cat mod door stopper was too funny not to come home with me, too. NOT an easy item to sell but damn, hilarious. ------>>> On Etsy

And how about this atomic era magazine rack!? Love this piece.

How about this dinosaur bone tray!? I love it so! Man this haul is all over the place! ------>>> On Etsy

And on the coffee kick, we have this gorgeous daisy coffee pot! Looks like I accidentally wrote over this listing in my haste, it's $18.00 if anyone's interested!

And you'll notice a turtle theme. The estate sale I cleaned out (so many free things/things for a quarter! Hell yes!) had a turtle fetish. I completely approve of turtle fetish. Love the face on this little guy. ------>>> On Etsy.
And some more things from Japan! I resisted a gorgeous sake set but had to bring home these lovely tea cups. ------>>> On Etsy

And how about some gorgeous orange juice tumblers? ------>>> On Etsy

This guy isn't on Etsy and is destined for the antique mall booth. Let me know if you'd like this gorgeous lamp, I'm selling it for $10.00.
And a mid century modern serving dish, right in time for holiday feasting. ------>>> On Etsy

Turtle fetish continues, Turtle Power! I find it ironic that I found so many turtles after missing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle con I was dying to attend this weekend. A sign? Anway this guy looks like a toothbrush holder with the holes in his back but I'm not sure if that's his intended purpose. ------>>> On Etsy.

And this is only the saddest thing you'll ever see. Yep. I absolutely love this piece, a favorite find. Only cost a quarter, too. ------>>> On Etsy
And some big eye owl artwork! See this beautiful painting ------>>> On Etsy

I found a HUGE set of these glasses. I'm still decided if I'll list them as a whole or in pieces. They'll be on Etsy soon.

And this huge lighting fixture is about to be installed in my southern crossing antique mall booth. I'd like to say Danish mid century modern? Still works! It will be on Etsy soon as well. HUGE piece. E-mail me if you'd like it.

THE FREE THINGS: And with that, damn! I need a break. I have been working on this stuff NON-DAMN STOP for two days straight. Please e-mail me if you'd like to buy anything or have any questions. IN the spirit of giving I'll be sending freebies to the FIRST PEOPLE to buy things from this haul!

Free Thing ONE is this turtle! You know you want her. Free to anyone who orders an item from this haul.

Second Freebie set is this Yorkie Avon Decanter and chalkware puppy set! First two orders get freebies, whoever does it first gets first dibs.

And Don't Forget: I'm hosting a giveaway, your feedback would REALLY help me out. Plus you're entered to FREE bottle of my favorite face wash. Yay! Dooooo eet. I'm adding new items to Etsy EVERY DAY and marking prices down, now is the time to order Christmas presents. Go Shopping!

  1. You sure are a busy bee! I had that Yorkie Avon bottle as a kid-- gave it to an aunt in the 80s 'cause she had a Yorkie. I think she still has the bottle. Good luck selling!

  6. Yegads did you fit in your car after that!? I was wondering about the turtles before you mentioned it.

The 1930s tumblers are so pretty! Impractical for thirsty people but so pretty anyway. That last lighting fixture is a show stopper. Good luck selling!

    1. My compact car was stuffed literally to THE BRIM! I had an antique mirror and a few boxes from the antique mall in there too. If anything else would have come in it would have had to be on my lap ;D I can't wait to install this new goodness in my mall booth.

    1. I used to go to St. Augustine every weekend and may have discovered the best ones but hell yeah, gimme more. :D Yard sales are one of my favorite ways to score loads of vintage and cheap housewares, the weather has been perfect for them lately.

  13. Oh my, love the plaque! Can't afford it with shipping right now, but such is life lately! I must live on.
Great haul all around - loving the dino tray, the door stopper & just curious - what did you price that amazing tea towel at? It's a fun one!!

    1. I priced it at $15.00. Should have gone higher, it sold immediately. If you'd really like the plaque I may be able to price shipping lower if you provide your address. I always add that note to listings, I'm forced to do the shipping higher than I'd like because international shipping has gone way up with the USPS and have to cover my basis so I make a profit :/ boooo. Otherwise sometimes I won't make anything.

  16. Ok, so I saw this the other day and when I saw that Mid Century platter, I loved it immediately! Then last night at church, a lady shows up carrying a matching pitcher/carafe - same pattern, awesome atomic shape, and gives it to my mom! I couldn't believe the coincidence - what are the odds of having never seen that pattern, then having it set in my lap? It's made by Inland Glass, by the way! :)

  17. Wow, you really had a great haul! Enjoyed looking at all your pieces.

Regarding the turtle "toothbrush holder," - it might be a flower frog, which is used to make floral arrangements. You stick the stems in the holes. Here's a similar one on Ruby Lane: http://www.rubylane.com/item/334002-A04181594/Art-Pottery-Green-Flower-Frog.

For the huge set of drinking glasses, you might want to split it up into groupings of 2 to 4, say, and sell them that way. People may only want to get a few but not everything.
