Thrift Haul: Mod Pottery, Planters and Art Ahoy!

I only hit one flea market this week but yielded a decent haul regardless. I'm following some new personal thrifting rules and trying to bring home only the best vintage without any chips. Sometimes when something's only 25 cents or less I've broken the rule in the past, but I'm trying to move past that.

Yuko's posing with a trio of cute pups. My planter fetish means I couldn't resist the planter, and the other two ended up coming along for the ride, too.

And I luckily was able to scoop up two more damn cute vintage owl wall hangings. I think they're even cuter than a chalkware set I found recently. For today only as a daily deal they are only $12.50, so let me know if you'd like to buy the pair.

The second daily deal is this pair of "bonnet girl" art prints. I'm selling the pair for $6.00 if anyone's interested. I'd rather sell them online than put them in my physical shops, running low on space!

And more wall art! This time, a trio of owls. If I don't sell them quickly I may paint the frames neon-bright colors to spice them up.

I love string art on velvet and was pleasantly surprised to discover this piece at the flea market. This one uses copper wire, I'm selling it for $8.50 if anyone would like it.

And more string art! I love boats pieces so this was another happy find. The bright red felt background makes this piece unique.

I'm selling this piece for $15.00 if anyone's interested in it before it goes onto Etsy for a higher price. I love the blue and yellow in the string, it's a fun piece!

This may be my favorite "kid's art" find. I love the super saturated colors and the illustrations are too damn cute. Look at the little Siamese cat by the girl's leg in the picture on the right- love that expression.

I love this cornflower blue cantinaware set. I'm trying to resist cups since I'm a bit overloaded, but this set is so pretty It should have a chance to sell...I hope!

This still needs some cleaning- another vintage Avon solid perfume holder with Sakura blossoms on the front. I like the Japanese look to it.

More mod pottery! I find this stuff all the time at flea markets, it's crazy. I can't wait to list them on Etsy and see how they do, my shop's going to be loaded with a wide selection of pots!

I think my favorite find is this Pigeon Forge pottery piece. It is so beautiful! Gotta love the groovy boomerang-like atomic shape, textured beige exterior and smooth robin's egg blue interior. I wonder how much I should list it for...

And now I must clean and get ready to take hundreds of pictures for the upcoming Etsy shop. So tell me...

What did you find this weekend?

  1. Great find on the Pigeon Forge! Haven't come across much of it out where we are. Your kitty is so photogenic, ours never poses nicely like that =)

    1. Yuko's definitely a good model. I wish I could get even one shot of my parents dogs. It ALWAYS comes out like a giant blur, they never stop moving.

  2. Love the Pigeon Forge piece also. I live in TN and have never come across one of those pieces. Yeah, I've had to implement the no chips/cracks (and usually no crazing in the glaze unless a piece is stellar otherwise) rule too. Damaged stuff doesn't sell well. It breaks my heart when I find something awesome and it's damaged. (Sometimes I sneak and buy it for my personal collection though... lol)

    1. What tempts me is when a piece is 10 cents or something, but chipped. Sometimes people don't mind some chips in a retail setting. But to maintain quality for your brand, it's best to avoid it...

  3. For some reason I just love the copper string art! If I weren't already overflowing with thrift finds, I'd totally buy it from you. :) Also love all the pottery and the doggie planter!

    1. Same here, if I wasn't already overloaded I'd keep it. It's quite a stand-out piece, hopefully someone will realize that soon and scoop 'er up!

  4. ok. i LOVE that last pottery piece. and i can't believe what awesome string art you find. that boat is fabulous - although still not as fabulous as the bigger one you have in our living room (i think that's where it is , have seen it on your blog photos!) will have to keep my eyes peeled for one like that in my neighbourhood!
