Dream Shop: The Thrift Core Brick and Mortar Dream Team

Our first meeting was a success! I love the Thrift Core Dream Team; Artists on a mission.

The Thrift Core blog is not a group production. I design it, code it, take the photos, and write it. It's a one-woman job! And I'm spent between Thrift Core, full time writing job, writing for One Spark and Papernstitch (Soon Handmade Success) and working on my antique store space.

That's why I've assembled an amazing team to create the Thrift Core Brick and Mortar Shop! These contributors and I share the same vision: to make the Thrift Core shop a cozy yet fun place to shop, to instigate creativity, and to improve the community.

Thrift Core B&M Dream Team: selected for their extraordinary talents & passion

Mandie: Deaf Jam Poet, Graffiti Artist and Coffee Shop Extraordinaire

Mandie will run the coffee shop portion of the Thrift Core Brick & Mortar; named "Javascript."  She's am experienced businesswoman, writer and activist that's obsessed with making a difference in our community. (She wants to make the West Side the Best Side!)

Nicole: Famed Critter Illustrator, Vintage Enthusiast & Antique Collector

Nicole has made a name for herself with her elaborate Bird and Octopi art. With a keen eye, she scoures antique stores, flea markets, and thrift stores for the best kitschy vintage treasure.

Rosaly: Fellow Old-Skool Loving Art Fiend and Vintage Lover

Rosaly is one part of the Old Skool Junk artist collaboration. As a dedicated crafter, painter and future teacher, Rosaly is obsessed with fostering an artistic community in Jacksonville.

Rick: Old-Skool Junk Co-conspirator and Trained Fine Artist

Ricky's passion for inspiring and teaching young artists will be the heart of Thrift Core's youth art programs and his male perspective well help us make the shop a place guys and gals can enjoy equally.

Birdie: Prolific Haiku Writer & Comic Artist

Maintaining two online comics, Birdie is a thrifting, crafting fiend that will use his art, writing, and research skills to help make the Thrift Core dream a reality.

Van the Man: Me! Manager, Workaholic, Artsy-Kitsch-Loving-Geek

Ambitious geek on a mission, Thrift Core B&M manager and proverbial ring leader. Sick of the apathy public school creates and obsessed with making a difference in our community and inspiring others to be creative.
