The New Thrift Core Headquarters: A Peek at my new Apartment

I guilted over my choice to select this large two bedroom apartment for days. I got an amazing deal, but I was looking for the cheapest, smallest place possible as per my thriftiest year ever goals.

In the end, this larger apartment is the thriftier choice! I'm writing off a portion of the rent because I'm using so much of the apartment as work space. With the deductions (see my reseller tax tips) I'm paying less than I did before for a more functional living and working space! I'm already sleeping better now that I'm not constantly tripping over boxes of art supplies and merchandise! This new apartment is good for my soul!

I'll show you the other half of the apartment soon! I'd love to know about where you work and live! Spill!

  2. Thank you for the tour! There's that yellow cart I love and looks like the 'bots are already on display in the kitchen.
My creative space is split between 2 rooms and will soon be combined. One room is for stock and the other is more of my office. In the office, next to the window, I have my diy photo studio with bust form and in the corner I have my diy photography lightbox. The closet is home to packing material and my cat loves to hide from the dog in there!

    1. Sounds lovely, you're lucky to have so much space to work with for your reselling ventures. I might keep the "blank" wall blank as a backdrop for photographing merchandise.

  3. Hey! Love your new space! It looks fresh and inviting (and CLEAN!! Do you have kids???!! lol). I really like how you put the description on the picture. I might have to "borrow" that feature. Cute! :)

We moved from our 2-BR condo into a 4-BR house over a year ago, and I'm *JUST* now trying to get my "crafting room" together, but it's a work in progress. Bigger house = more projects = less time! AHGH!

    1. HAHA! No kids! My toys are for me and me alone ;)

Wow! Four bedroom house, sounds both exciting and overwhelming. It's definitely a lot of work to get settled in when you have a lot of crafting supplies...I'm right here in the middle of it!

    1. Thanks Rebecca. Yep, still have a bedroom, office, two bathrooms, and a creepy shining-esc hallway to explore!

  7. Looks awesome! I'm so jealous of all that space. We live in a studio right now, and the whole "tripping over boxes of art supplies and merchandise" is our unfortunate reality. The hardwood floors are GORGEOUS, and I love that mid century hutch/bookshelf in the dining area. Congratulations on all that beautiful space!!

    1. Thank you! A studio space is so hard to live in, but you guys rock it from what I can tell!

  8. Love it! Those floors and windows are perfect and that kitchen is great. I bet the move will spur on even more creativity and energy than you normally have.

I'm in a big ole sprawling ranch that is way too big for two people but just big enough for three cats. It's in constant renovation mode so there is always some kind of dust, tape and plastic situation going down.

    1. Thank you! You know how it is in Riverside, most apartments are very vintage and "unfinished" so this was quite a surprise find.

There's still plenty of unpacked boxes of art and vintage in the office so I'm not settled in completely yet ;) it's all and illusion...
