Vintage Apron Giveaway from Sassmouth Apparel!

Karli Isiyel of SassMouth Apparel is a self-professed Thrift Extraordinaire. Just like you and me, she's a lifelong thrifter that's addicted to the hunt. Today she's offering the two adorable vintage aprons pictured above to one lucky winner!

The Giveaway details are below, but first, I had to ask Karli some questions and her fun online shop!

What inspired you to set up shop?

I am constantly thrifting and have been doing it my whole life. I grew up with a single mother and money was always tight, and I actually remember going to thrift stores when I was little and being really embarrassed. But at some point I realized that the possibilities are endless at a thrift store, you can find things that no one else has, things with a story, things that have character. I never buy anything full price, and in college I started getting most of my wardrobe at thrift stores.

My friends all loved my style and always wanted the things I had. I am not sure why it only occurred to me about 6 months ago that I should open my own shop. But that's how SassMouth was born, the idea came to me in my sleep actually, I woke up that morning and got to work on business plans.

What are three ways you stay motivated with your business?

Sometimes it is hard, I work full-time and also run the business on the side. I use my weekends to find new treasures, and I really enjoy that. But when I get an order it redeems all my hard work :) I also talk to people about my business and my friends and family are super supportive, and give me good ideas for marketing.

What's your favorite thing to resell?

My favorite things to resell are vintage dresses. I like to imagine who wore them and where they went in them, and exactly how fabulous they were.

What role does thrifting play in your business?

It plays a huge role, it is the bane of my existence! My whole business is based on the idea that people may love to thrift, but they don't like sifting through the junk ;) So I charge a small finders fee, and do it for them.
