Giveaway: Name the Kitten, Win a Vintage (Kitten) Surprise

My workflow has been slowed down by a furry new roommate. My niece's cat had kittens and my overwhelmed brother begged me to pick one up. My niece named her Daphne, which isn't too bad, but I was wondering if you could come up with something better?

Giveaway: Name the Kitten & Win a Vintage Surprise!

In order to enter, simply leave a comment with your name suggestions for the cat and include your e-mail. I'll select a random winner 10/18/2011. To help you decide on a name, here's a little bit more information on this charming creature:

She has three light-gray spots on the top of her head that make her look like a snow leopard's cub. She's antsy and clingy right now because she's lived in one room with her mom and brother he whole life. Yep, she came from a litter of only two kittens. (Her brother also has three spots on the top of his head, his are more opaque.)

When she's not sleeping she's not content to let me work. She crawls on my keyboard, messed with my keys, get into my paperwork. She's asleep now; this is the only way I'm getting a temporary reprieve. (Work at home moms, I finally feel a degree of your daily struggle!)

I'll reveal the mystery prize for this kitten giveaway on the Thrift Core Facebook page soon, and I'll reveal the winner on Facebook one week from now!

100% Pure Giveaway Winners: I used a random number generator to select Danielle (comment #6), Amber (comment #24), and Krisan (comment #4). I've e-mailed you all to gather your mailing addresses so 100% Pure can send you a body lotion and mascara each!

Help me think of the perfect name for this feline, and have fun!

  3. Aw, she is the cutest!!! I think you should go with something cute and Japanese. I looked up what snow would be and it was "yuki" I think that's a lovely( and very appropriate!) name. If it were my cat, I'd name her Yuki:)

  6. Considering your love of robots and things Asian, I would say Yoshimi. So in case any Pink Robots come your way, you are covered. ;)

  7. Leo (for leopard). Oh my goodness she is so cute, I'll take her off your hands! ;)

  8. Hmmm, I'll give it some thought and get back to you, but if there is anybody in NE Wisconsin, or who wants to come visit, I have some white cats and kittens needing homes. (A friends litter)

  13. I just got a little boy kitten this weekend and named him Turtle! Already love him to pieces! :) If I had a cute little girl like yours, I'd name her Fedora. Miyu, meaning beautiful moon or Miki, meaning flower stalk would be great kitty names for you, though, since you're so into your Japanese collectibles!:)

My 3 fat free-loading furries agree! Lori C

  19. Okay I'm going to share with you my secret name for my non-existing cat (which will continue to be non-existent for some time, I'm guessing) - SITKA.

As in Sitka, Alaska. As in Sitka, Alaska in The Proposal (Sandra B and Ryan R).

I honestly think it's a perfect name for cats and yours look like a Sitka to me. She's beautiful!

  20. She looks very sweet and hopefully she'll be the cuddly kind. I think the name Mochi (Japanese rice cake) would fit her just fine :)

  21. I'd call her Kabegami, it's the cat god from Okami, and found at the top of what's basically a tower for lost cats. Also, Kabegami is pure white with a red marking on it's forehead. http://okami.wikia.com/wiki/Kabegami

  32. I would name her O-Ren Ishii after Lucy Liu's character in Kill Bill. Plus, I think Ishii-Kitty would be fun to call out to her..."Here Ishii-Kitty! Dinner time!" or "Ishii-Kitty! Stop scratching that chair!". See it works ;)

  33. Pangur came to mind instantly - Pangur is a white cat in an Irish poem from the 9th century AD and seeing your kitten play with your papers reminded me of the poem. (more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangur_B%C3%A1n)

  34. A fascinating discussion is definitely worth comment. I do believe that you need
to write more about this subject matter, it may not be a taboo subject
but typically folks don't speak about such subjects. To the next! Cheers!!

  36. May I just say what a relief to uncover somebody that actually
knows what they are discussing over the internet. You definitely understand how to
bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people
have to check this out and understand this side
of your story. It's surprising you're not more popular because
you most certainly have the gift.
