Vintage and Hip Hop Unite: Photoshoot at Thrift Core Headquarters

Thrifting and vintage can lead to many creative careers. I share a list of the Top 50 Dream Jobs for Thrifters, but the possibilities are truly endless. I'm getting a rep as the chick who thrifts, takes pictures, and has a colorful apartment full of vintage. The result is unique opportunities every time I check my inbox!

Recently a music promoter asked if I could take pictures of local rapper Strife at my casa, the proverbial Thrift Core headquarters! I agreed, then promptly stuffed my vintage mess out of the way in my bedroom for the illusion of a clean pad! I hope they like the photos. This is a small preview.

I want to branch into renting vintage for events and photos and doing very creative photoshoots one day. What are your vintage and thrifting related plans?

    1. Yes indeed, the money you earn from it could pay for the warehouse to store it all ;) Perhaps run a vintage museum, ah, the possibilities...

  6. Love the pictures! Happy for you for a new opportunity too.
Was he writing rhymes on your old typewriter?
Love that you styled the two pink bunny(?) friends on the couch next to him.

    1. I wish I had some ink ribbon for that old typewriter, you guessed it right, they're two pink vintage bunny toys. Of course you'd have a good eye to spot small cute vintage bits :) !

  7. Don't you have an overhead projector around there somewhere? I always thought that was something really cool to use as home decor!

    1. Yep, I sold the table it once sat on so now it sadly sits on the floor. ;p Had to move it out of the way for pictures. People have asked to buy it but I can't give it up yet, I want to use it for teaching classes and art projects...

  8. My first thought when I saw your photos was that you did a deep cleaning or really a deep organizing of your place. I have seen your other photos of when you were in the process of reorganizing. Your place really looks great and with your 'new friend' Strife in the photos, super cool! Your mind must be going a thousand miles a minute with all the great ideas you have.

    1. It's -constantly- back and forth between really clean and really messy while I work, I haven't gotten where I want to yet with organizing, but I'm working hard at it.
