After a long break from thrifting I thrifted for 4.5 hours yesterday. 2.5 of which were spent forming a fall/winter wardrobe using these tips because I froze my ass off last winter and I vowed to never do it again.

And then I encountered a thrift wonderland where everything was really, really my nerdiest frugal wet dreams except there was no Batman (there was an inflated Spiderman but he doesn't do it for me) I got tons of 70s era fun for pocket change each. Head...still..spinning. Or is that exhaustion from lack of sleep?

I'll continue covering the haul this week. I'll be painting a few things I found, hanging the charming art finds, and sharing tips and craft ideas from the delicious Encyclopedia of groovy 70s crafts.

By the golden hour (7PM) the car was stuffed with retro goodies. I'm thrift spent...until next time.

  1. Looks like fun to me! And I bet your head is spinning from lack of sleep AND excitement. Dude, we work freakin hard don't beat yourself up for having a little fun. If you feel super bad then get rid of some stuff. Make it, if something comes in a few things gotta go out.

  2. 4.5 hours, you go girl!!~ You do have a haul of goods though. The thermos caught my Grandfather had the same one, he would bring to work everyday. Glad you had fun. Thanks for joining me this week. Debbie

  3. Stray Dog Strut- If you live in Jacksonville it's in Julington Creek, straight down San Jose. It's a charity thrift store, I always forget the name of it...Not a National Chain.

Kari- I'm gonna be rough on myself and get rid of a box of things for bringing in such a big haul. At least 75% of it are useful things I needed (work clothes)

  4. Awesome, thanks. I usually hit the Goodwill on Southside and a couple not-too-spectacular ones on Beach.

  5. i should have called my post epic free haul, it looks like we got just as much stuff. i posted that i need to make a few posts out of it, b/c there is sooo much to highlight. great score. don't you get that ridiculous giddy high? i did!
