Now for some things you haven't seen! Got a great deal on this lustroware set of Coffee/Tea/Salt/Pepper Canisters at a yard sale. See it On Etsy!

I also this gorgeous pink 1960s tensor mod desk lamp! I've never seen one in pink before. I'm sure it'll go fast on Etsy.

And aren't they beautiful!? I used to lust for these holland mold busts and finally found a pair in gorgeous condition. Their hanging on Etsy.

I love these 1960s mid century modern black shelves I found at a yard sale, PERFECT size for my small art pieces and curios. They're on Etsy though it'll be sad to see them go. Never found a pair like these before.

The Big Thriftin' print is part of my new art series I'll continue adding to, see more of 'em here. Let me know if you have any suggestions for them! I'm working on staging some improved product photos for them.

*If something doesn't have a link I don't have it listed on Etsy yet. E-mail me if you'd like it.

Clearance and Shipping: This is my last clearance post for January. The shipping for these listings estimated to the farthest distance on these items to ensure I don't lose money, I will refund any differences. E-mail me if you'd like me to calculate lower or group shipping rates. If you see something you like, please buy! Help me clear out space and fill your home with beautiful vintage swag. Lots of stuff is marked down in the shop for January! I was going to continue sales all January but they're time consuming and there doesn't seem to be much interest.

NOTE: If you didn't catch my new blog schedule I post on the weekends now. Here's my Experiments List for January and my Epic Projects List for 2014 if you missed it! THREE WINNERS have a chance to win 300 free business cards, today's the last day to enter so check out that giveaway here!

    1. Thanks Megan! Means a lot, was feeling conscious about the shop being crappy lately. I'm in the process of re-doing all the photos to my more updated style and don't like how the remaining photos are my oldest work. It'll be getting better very soon! Glad you love the signs, I've been resisting ALL knick-knacks lately, though it's hard.

  2. How weird! I've seen #2 Crazed Cowgirl in one of my own thrifts, and #1 Bonnet Girl (and her boyfriend "Imma eat dis puppeh boy") absolutely dozens of times!
Hubs and I still regret not buying the gorilla-in-a-nurse's-uniform statue.

    1. I didn't used to see cowgirl and bonnet girl/puppy boy around until this past year. Common molds, now I know ;) Will never buy ones like this again, holy crap, they sit forever.

  3. Its so random what sells for me....its becoming harder and harder to predict. Knick Knacks are great to add to photos, so if they don't sell, I'll keep them around.....I try not to pay too much for them to start with, so its never a big loss. Lately, wall hangings/art has been selling well for me (go figure), Wood mid century items are always a fast mover. Dish sets (full sets) usually do well. Ashtrays, NO! Mugs, NO! Pyrex...depends on the collection. Salt and pepper shakers, NO! Books and games, YES! Advertising stuff, bIG YES! We'll see how this year goes. I feel Im a bit wiser with what to carry in my stores, what works and what doesn't work. I would like to see sales double this year....so far, I am off to a good start. (as long as I stop buying ashtrays and mugs, or damaged/unfixable items)

    1. I want to do a post on what the hell is selling for us soon because damn, we need all the help we can get, and like you said, it's so random. Varies between local and non-local too. My local sales are even more random than the non-local but it does tend to be whatever is marked on clearance of course, boo. My booth has a lot of competition from people who price lower but a goal this year is to brand really well to set my own price point.

For me ALL glassware (the majority of what I seem to buy, ha) in general just sits. Hard to sell.

  4. It is hard to predict what sells and what doesn't. I had a cool set of frosted 50s tall bar glasses that sat and sat. Finally donated them. Like those shelves. I have a black metal one I picked up cheap at a garage sale years ago. I've used it ever since. Good luck!

    1. Thanks Diane! I've tempted to quit this sale series because it's been taking up hours and hours of time to photograph it nice/edit/re-list/change price/write post without moving many pieces. We shall see! And yes, so weird how unpredictable sales can be. I'm in the process of updating photos/the booth to make branding consistent and strong to see if that helps things of all types move better. I think I need to diversify what I sell more, I have too much glassware/impractical items.

  5. I've never sold figurines or bar ware or even really cups and such. I guess I've always swayed towards soft goods. Linen's, clothing, occasional christmas something or another. I know people who have learned their crap in a certain era and do really well with umm lets call them hard goods. I don't know why but names for glassware and pottery, like water off a ducks back in my brain. And maybe I never bothered because the soft goods have always been good consistent friends and oh so easy to ship! At any rate.......good luck with the sales series. Quit when your sick of it though. Time is money. Hardest thing to learn when you work for yourself.

    1. I need to sit and spend time researching names and eras. My background is in copywriting/marketing/web-stuff and I came to reselling as a blogger first and it evolved into being a career before I had a chance to learn my stuff. This year I'm doing a vintage/mod designers series so I can teach all the other clueless people while learning myself. I may evolve to sticking to mod-era 60s goodies because it's my favorite for the bold simple shapes but we'll see. Definitely time to diversify out of the mugs/figurines/glassware niche I put myself in! And list a lot of this stuff on eBay where I'm sure it'll sell for more/faster.

  6. Van! Stop tempting me with that fabulous frosted barware! Because God knows I don't NEED anymore barware in my life....LOL. Love it all! Those Holland busts are awesome. I sold the girl one a while back with a pretty blue glaze. It sat for a while, but I think you'll do well with the pair. I'm excited about your art series, too.

  8. Those tumblers you can't come up with the ID for look like Arcoroc in the Seabreeze pattern. I know with the plates and mugs, the name Arcoroc is usually somewhere on it.

  9. The yellow canister set looks like a prize score. I hope you do well with that. You've seen my scores for this weekend. I really lucked into the Pyrex.

  10. Lots and lots of fun finds. It is difficult to predict what sells. I have re-donated to the thrift store several times. Lesson learned. Love the holland busts!

    1. I'm going to re-photograph and stage the remainder of my merch carefully and re-list on Etsy, Craigslist and eBay for one last try. If it doesn't sell after that to the antique mall for cheap clearance it goes ;p

  11. Those German style steins are ALL OVER the thrift stores in Nashville lately. I have bought several. One was in that rustic-y style and for Six Flags over Texas. I guess there is a big demand for that because it sold on ebay for 30 bucks..so definitely keep you eye out for six flags stuff...the vintage souvenirs go for big dollars! (I mean...big when you only spend a buck on it...perspective.). Also, I have been seeing those tiki tumblers now and again too...I love em!

    1. I need to get a lot of this stuff to eBay where it will likely sell for more than these sale prices ;)

    1. I'll be listing it on eBay soon. I haven't been truly "thrifting" in weeks either, I found some stuff while riding bike and switching out things in the antique mall. It's nice to take a break.

    1. Nope, many people enjoy the rust/texture that gives old items its history. Saves me time, too ;) and expense.

  15. We are big fans of Tiki mugs and lustro ware and barware but the price definitely makes a difference to us. I guess, as with any item anyone wants, when personal value meets price, there is a sale made. (Rob)

  16. When I started selling on eBay, I used to stock and sell a lot of knick-knacks. I've pretty much stopped buying them to resell because they tend not to sell for much. I have been focusing on bringing my average selling price up for the last 2 years or so.

As for barware, I've never had a lot of luck with beer steins, so I stopped buying them awhile ago. I do know other eBay sellers who have done a good job selling more expensive types of barware, though.

    1. Thanks for the tips. I'll be moving away from knick knacks. Very mod 60s big eye adorable stuff will sell fast for me but anything else sits for too long.
